My journey with Tarot began in childhood when my Uncle William would visit from overseas and read my cards. To me, this was a normal practice—a way to gain insight into what was happening around me and use that guidance positively to illuminate my way forward.
While at University in Brighton, I was fortunate to have my uncle living nearby in Hove. My visits were interesting, to say the least, as his many eclectic friends would drop in, including an array of witches and the odd Warlock. My Uncle, with his long robes and shock of white hair, was a conduit of spiritual knowledge and his home a haven of peace for these enchanting and magical people. I often thought of him as wizard-like in his mannerisms and appearance; he reminded me of ‘The Magician’, the first card of the Major Arcana, although he himself identified with the card – ‘The Fool’.
Under his guidance, I learned everything I know about tarot and the fascinating world that affects all our behaviour and temperaments – the elements of earth, air, fire, and water. For over 50 years, I have read cards for family and friends before finally deciding to go 'professional' following my recent semi-retirement.
I often tell those I read for that I am a ‘tarot reader’ and not a ‘mind reader.’ The more you, as the client, engage with the process, the richer the experience will be. While I am not a clairvoyant, perhaps in the traditional sense of the word, I have an intuitive style honed from fifty years of reading the cards, twenty-five years of Life Coaching, and a couple of best-selling books on positive mindset.
My readings offer clients space and time to reflect on themselves and what is important. The guidance that emerges from the cards is always insightful, and it is up to the client to find meaning for themselves and choose whether to act on it. My role is to enlighten and support you on your life’s exciting journey.
It is always a challenge when someone comes for a tarot reading for the first time, as people can often come with many preconceived ideas that are not always true. So, managing expectations is always a priority to ensure that their tarot experience with me is truly enjoyable. Feel free to ask as many questions as you wish.
Most importantly, my sessions are not about predicting the future, although future events can show up, but about providing practical, intuitive guidance to help you navigate challenges that you have right now, enabling you to see alternate paths and seize opportunities.
